This piece to me, represents a couple taking a break either from the other or with one another. They are sitting on the same tree of life, but have separate branches.
They are looking in different directions as their backs touch one another, perhaps to bring more into the relationship by having different points of view.
They might be unsure to let go or stay; or they can be allowing each other the space they need to be able to stay.
As I look at this deeper, I percieve to see the one on the right with something in his/hers arms as if they were carressing a small child, their creation of another soul.

they are done with each other, each one having been so closely tied as to become a part of one another, but they are still able to lean and support the other who is still and inevitably their counterpart - like the first love that always stays with you.
