Chakra II.
Location: Lower abdomen to navel area
Energy connection: This chakra resonates to our need for relationships with other people and our need to control our physical environment.
Symbolic connection: The healthy second chakra energy keeps us able to interact with the physical world without having to negotiate or “sell” ourselves,
it is the energy of self-sufficiency.
Primary strength: The ability and stamina to survive financially and physically on one’s own, Personal and professional decision-making ability; the resilience to recover from loss.
Primary fears: Fears of loss of control, or being controlled by another.
Questions for Self-Examination
1. Are you a controlling Person?
2. Do you engage in powerplays in your relationships?
3. Does money have authority over you?
4. Do you make compromises that violate your inner self for the sake of financial security?
5. What goal do you have for yourself that you have yet to pursue?
6. What stands in the way of vour acting upon those goals?
7. Do you negotiate your ethics depending upon your circumstances?
8. Do you consider yourself a creative person?
Power: Creativity
On the level of physical perception, your second chakra automatically evaluates any situation according to how it affects your survival:
Are you physically safe? Are there any financial implications? Is your power in this situation threatened by someone bigger, stronger, richer, sexier? A part of you instinctvely assesses each moment of your life for its potential threat to your survival. Through this energy center you are attached to your addictions, regardless of whether they are drugs, work or other habits. Having to be first in line or needing to have the last word in a discussion with someone is also a form of addiction. This chakra reflects some of our deepest vulnerabilities.
